GETTING TO CHIANG MAI

BY AIR
The quickest and easiest way to get from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is by Air. The flight time is approximately just 1 hour and 10 minutes. Please ask your Travel Agent for the best available airfare.

BY TRAIN
For Something a little different, why not experience the journey from Bangkok to Chiang Mai by Rail. We offer both a daytime and night time service. For the overnight service the 1st Class Sleeper comfortably accommodates 2 or 4 passengers to a berth. Be aware though that First class in Thailand does not equate to luxury by New Zealand Standards!! Facilities here are shared - and whilst clean and tidy are still very basic. The Journey time is approx 12 hours.

WEATHER IN CHIANG MAI
Climate in the north of Thailand is split into 3 seasons: The Rainy Season from May to October, the "Cool" Season from November to February and the Hot Season in March and April. During the Hot Season the temperatures in the north can be much higher than those in Bangkok.

An excursion to the north of Chiang Mai to visit an elephant working site. Watch the elephants taking their daily bath in the stream before beginning to haul timber in the forests. Afterwards visit the Meo Hilltribe Village of Mae Saa Mai.

Visit an elephant camp north of Chiang Mai and ride an elephant for 90 minutes through the jungle. After Lunch take a visit to the Meo Hilltribe Village.
