WAI-O-TAPU THERMAL WONDERLAND
Located 27 km south of Rotorua, Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) is New Zealand's most colourful and diverse volcanic area. Enjoy walks through the area - varying from 30-75 minutes at your leisure and you will find natures colours of every kind displayed in pools, lakes craters, steam vents, mineral terraces and even the tracks you walk on. Some highlights of this thermal wonderland are - the Champagne pool a unique pool that is 1/5 of a hectare big and contains bubbling, hissing water with a beautiful ocre coloured petrified edge. There are a range of violent and spectacular mud pools and the Lady Knox Geyser that erupts daily at 10:15am and reaches heights of up to 20 metres.

HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING
Morning tour - Visit Paradise Valley Springs a trout and wildlife park, the Agrodome Sheep Show, Whakarewarewa thermal area and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute.
Afternoon tour - Visit Whakarewarewa, New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, Rainbow Trout Springs and the Great New Zealand farm show.

WAIMANGU VOLCANIC VALLEY
Situated 14km south of Rotorua, Waimangu is a geothermal valley that was created as a result of the eruptions in the area (including Mt Tarawera in 1886) between the years of 1886-1917. It is important as it is the only existing area in the world that is an example of a bio-system regenerating itself after complete devastation.
Open Daily: 8:30am-5:00pm

Waimangu Wanderer - 1-2 hours, wander along the crater walkways, inspect the awe-inspiring volcanic activity and thermally adapted plants and learn the explosive history of Waimangu.
Open: 8:30am-3:45pm (winter) 4:45 (summer)

Rotomahana Voyager - 1/2 hour boat cruise that allows you to learn the history of the Tarawera eruption. View volcanic activity, which can only be seen from the boat on the shores of this young lake.
Departs Visitor Centre: 10am, 11am, 12:50pm, 1:30pm, 2:25pm & 3:15pm

Waimangu/Rotomahana Explorer - Allow 3 hours for an in-depth journey through Waimangu. Follow the crater walkways at leisure, join the boat cruise on Lake Rotomahana and shuttle back to the entrance.

FISHING
The Rotorua Lakes area offers some great trout fishing. Ask your travel agent to contact us for trout fishing tours/charters to suit your needs.

THE AGRODOME
The New Zealand Agrodome is a 160-hectare working sheep and cattle farm with 1200 sheep and 120 beef cattle. The New Zealand Agrodome gives you a real hands-on, live experience of farming and a total interaction with sheep, goats, cattle, deer and baby lambs. 3 shows a day are performed of the sheep show at 9:30am, 11am and 2:30pm, there is a farm tour that runs 4 times a day at 10:40am, 12:10pm, 1:30pm and 3:40pm as well as a host of other fun and exciting activities.

SKYLINE SKYRIDES
Enjoy a Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha to overlook spectacular views of Rotorua and the lake. Other activities include the exciting luge ride down the side of the mountain on carts and a Sky Swing, that swings 50m above ground level, an exhilarating way to take in the view!

PARADISE VALLEY SPRINGS
A superb and natural New Zealand wildlife sanctuary where you can get close to and even hand-feed the Trout, Birdlife and wild animals. Natural bush setting with stream, springs and pools. Also a Watter Bottling display and a pride of Lions in a slightly separate area. Exciting feed time 2:30pm every day.

OFF ROAD NZ - 4WD BUSH SAFARI
Pair up and share the driving as you manoeuvre our 4WD's over and through an extreme off road trail set in beautiful native rain forest, conquer your fear as you negotiate a variety of challenges. Your tour will include a history of the migration of the Maori people, a tour of the Institute and Arts and Crafts Gallery and a visit to the Rotowhio Marae which is a sacred meeting house to the Maori. In addition to all of this, visit a kiwi house where you can view this nocturnal symbol of New Zealand and enjoy a tour through the spectacular Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley.
