The Big Island of Hawaii has three distinct areas to choose from.
Hilo - On the East coast is the town of Hilo. This quiet town has its own charm and offers interesting historic sites such as King Kamehameha’s statue and the famous Botanical Gardens. Hilo is the gateway to the Volcanic National Park and is approximate 50 minute drive to the edge of the crater at Mauna Loa. Hilo township is an ideal base to explore this fascinating side of the island or for those true Volcano enthusiasts accommodation is also available at the craters edge.
Kona - On the opposite side (West coast) is the town of Kona. Famous for its Kona Coffee, the town also is the departure point for some fantastic scuba and snorkelling excursions. We offer three hotels in Kona, two apartment style and the other regular hotel rooms. Both are located on the waters edge and minutes from the centre of town. Kohala Coast - Approximately 30 minutes from Kona is the beautiful resort area of the Kohala Coast. Whilst accommodation is slightly pricier here, the standard is superb and for a truly relaxing holiday this is the ideal getaway. With glorious white sand beaches, clear water and superb spa facilities the days just melt away. |

VOLCANOES
The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, has the world’s only drive-in volcano. Take a tour or self drive to the rim where you can walk on the fern lined trails or go underground into the lit lava caves. There is a 40 minute drive around the rim of the crater with superb viewing platforms over looking sulphur fields - and they are still smoking!
FAMILIES
Keiki (kids) are curious, and Hawaii’s Big Island has new and different experiences, places, and things the whole family can explore together. There’s lots to see and do because it’s such a big island. To minimize time in the car, you can split your visit in two and stay on both sides of the island. Check out hiking trails to ancient temples (heiau), past flooded taro fields (loi) where the Hawaiian staple is still grown the old way. Explore tide pools, snorkel through clouds of tropical fish, watch for whales, or take in a Hula Show.
ADVENTURE PLUS
The Big Island really does have it all - from Scuba diving, snorkeliing, Submarine underwater tours, and hiking to unbelievably Snowboarding and skiing in the winter! If you are the high activity type the Big Island has something for you.
GOLF
There are 20 magnificent courses on Hawaii’s Big Island (and more are being developed). These courses are carved out of ancient lava flows, nestled among historical Hawaiian landmarks, and fronting some of the most beautiful coastline of the Pacific. The striking contrasts of lush green fairways, pure white bunkers, jet-black lava flows, and turquoise blue Pacific waters make for some of the most scenic holes anywhere. |
